SCP Security Responds to Break-In at Long Road Property in Newlands
At approximately 05:00 AM, 23 March 2025, our control room received an urgent report regarding a break-in at a property on Long Road. Two suspects had unlawfully gained access to the premises by breaking and forcing open the gate.

Our Reaction Officer was immediately dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, our officer intervened and discovered the suspects. One suspect fled the scene upon being spotted and was not apprehended. The second suspect was successfully detained.

A search of his belongings revealed a bag containing two cell phones, which he claimed as his, along with a collection of tools suspected to have been used in the forced entry. Additional documented evidence was also gathered, including the tools found in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect had stolen several items, including:
- Solar lights
- Solar panels
- Copper wires
- A bag full of tools
