🟥 SCP SECURITY & COMMUNITY SUCCESSFULLY DISRUPT VEHICLE THEFT | ALBERTVILLE

At approximately 13:07, SCP Security’s Control Room received an urgent alert via a community group regarding suspicious individuals attempting to steal a red VW Citi Golf along Morkel Street in Albertville. The swift reporting by vigilant community members enabled an immediate response.

SCP Security Reaction Officers were promptly dispatched, supported by a backup vehicle, and arrived on scene. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that two suspects, travelling in a blue Opel Monza, had attempted to steal the vehicle. However, after being noticed by residents, the suspects abandoned the attempt and attempted to flee.

Community members immediately gave chase, demonstrating strong cooperation and awareness. SCP Security officers joined the pursuit, applying coordinated pressure that forced the suspects into a dead end along Grens Street, Albertville. The suspects then abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot in an attempt to evade arrest.

A thorough search of the surrounding area was conducted. During the operation, an onlooker reported that the suspects had managed to escape by entering a taxi, which departed the area shortly thereafter. The suspects’ vehicle was left behind at the scene, and SAPS was formally notified to take over further investigation.

Investigations are currently underway.
