At approximately 16:00 this afternoon, our control room received reports of smoke and a fire at Super Spar on the corner of Beyers Naudé Drive and Mountainview Avenue, Blackheath.
SCP Private Fire Search & Rescue was immediately dispatched and arrived within minutes. Fire-Ops served as the primary responders for this incident and did solid work on the ground. We were glad to work conjointly with them to tackle the blaze and bring the situation under control.
The fire reportedly started in the kitchen area inside the shop.
Discovery Fire, the COJ Fire Department, and Linden SAPS also responded to the scene and assisted. The coordinated response between all role players ensured that the situation was managed swiftly and effectively.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
