🚨 ATTEMPTED ROBBERY | NEWLANDS 🚨

At approximately 12:50, our SCP Security Control Room was alerted via a community group that 4 male suspects attempted to rob an elderly male along Long Rd, Newlands.
Our Reaction Officer was immediately dispatched, and SAPS, BW Officers and Crime Prevention Wardens were notified. On arrival, it was reported that the elderly victim had been threatened with a knife by four males while walking from the shopping centre.
Fortunately, he managed to run to a nearby shop for safety, where the owner assisted him. Officers gave chase and all suspects were apprehended. Items seized included drugs and knives.
